Event Report

Comments and anecdotes about the event:
I showed Jupiter for 1 hour, Saturn for 1 hour, and the Moon for 1 1/2 hours. There was always a line of people looking through the scope. The hundreds of people enjoyed these show-piece objects and also asked several astronomy questions. It was a beautiful night with no wind or clouds. The Japanese Gardens were wonderful with lanterns, koi ponds, sculptured trees, dancers, musicians, and fine food. When the large drums were beating, Saturn did a dance in the eyepiece from the vibrations, an extra added attraction. I estimate about 300/night attendees.
