Comments and anecdotes about the event:
The holiday weekend and waning days of summer coupled with a cooler summer evening led to great turnout! An early evening view of Mars later gave way to great views of different star clusters and nebulae. An unusual constellation of satellites and the aftermath of a rocket launch stunned members of the club and public alike. And a later-evening view of Saturn was a sure crowd-pleaser. The occasional meteor was spotted, but as we were past the peak of the Perseids, not so many were seen as might have been a week prior. Overall, a wonderful night of observing and sharing with the public!
