The USM Planetarium has asked SMA to assist with the Lunar Eclipse, January 20, 21.
The eclipse begins late evening of the 20th and into the early morning of the 21st. We could set-up telescopes for viewing other "deep sky" objects, between glances at the progression of the eclipse.
Binoculars would be great for the Moon and other bino objects, (M42, M45, M31, etc).
When I get more specific info.,(set-up time), I'll let you know. See you on the third!
Cheers,
Ron
