Event

The Cosmic Coffeehouse is the brainchild of longtime SSAS club member Steve LaFlamme, and is a monthly Zoom gathering of interested persons that engage in casual discussions on all things astronomy. It is always scheduled for the 15th of the month beginning at 7pm eastern time, and generally runs for about 1 - 1 1/2 hours. Topics typically include observing and imaging projects that folks have been currently working on, and the group interests span a diverse range of topics. The only way to get the Zoom link sent to you is to email Steve at astro-geek@comcast.net and ask to be included.

Comments and anecdotes about the event:
The Cosmic Coffeehouse, 51st edition; attendees discussed a wide range of topics, including the Stellafane Convention, the recent total/partial solar eclipse event, Milky Way photography, solar observing/Wilson effect, lunar observing/Mare Orientale, ISS solar transits viewing and imaging, eclipse outreach efforts, deep sky imaging/IFN, Perseid meteor shower experiences, ALPO resources, and more. All attendees were encouraged to attempt a sighting of the Barrow Ray on the moon on the following evening.
