Dozens of amateur astronomers, astronomy enthusiasts, and families will gather at Camp Cullom for immersion in the hobby and camaraderie of astronomy at the 21st Indiana Family Star Party.
 
This is a regional family-oriented star party sponsored by the Wabash Valley Astronomical Society, Indiana Astronomical Society, and Muncie Astronomy Club.  The public is invited to attend on August 2-3.  Full-event registrants may arrive and camp as early as Tuesday, July 30, for additional observinig time.  The event ends at noon on Sunday, August 4.

The constllation-finding program, Sky Trekker, will start at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.  Astronomy-related presentations take place on Saturday afternoon.  Stargazing occurs every night of the event, weather permitting.

Comments and anecdotes about the event:
Approximately 129 amateur astronomers and families registered for the full event, and the remaining attendees were daily walk-ins. Between showers, at least a few hours of observing were available most evenings. Speaker presentations included galactic structures, supernovae research, and the history of astronomers Vesto and Earl Slipher.
